New DHS Application Fees
Effective April
30, 2004
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will increase
the fees required for applications for immigration benefits
effective April 30, 2004. The new fees that will have the
most impact on the international community at Boston University
include the following:
The fee required for F-1 students applying for Optional
Practical Training will increase from $120 to $175 for the
I-765 Application for Employment Authorization.
The fee required for international students and scholars
applying for a change of immigration status or to reinstate
to valid immigration status will increase from $130 to $195
for the I-539 Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status.
The fee required to replace a lost or stolen I-94 card will
increase from $95 to $155 for the Application for Replacement/Initial
Nonimmigrant Arrival/Departure Record.

The new fee will be required for ALL applications postmarked
on or after April 30, 2004. All checks must be made payable
to the Department of Homeland Security. Please contact
