Continuing International Students in F-1 Immigration Status

New SEVIS Form I-20

Mandatory Information Sessions
May 3 - 5

All continuing students must receive a new SEVIS Form I-20. Many of you may be traveling over the summer so you must pick up a new SEVIS Form I-20 before you depart the US. We have scheduled mandatory information sessions for this weekend. Each session has been planned for specific schools or colleges. Please refer to the schedule below to find out when you must attend one of these mandatory sessions.

The agenda for each session will include a presentation about SEVIS, new immigration regulations and your rights and responsibilities for maintaining F-1 status. We will then distribute all of the SEVIS Form I-20s. Please make sure to bring your current Form I-20, passport and I-94 card. These sessions are very important, as you must receive a new SEVIS Form I-20 to maintain valid status. All sessions on May 3rd through May 5th will be held at Morse Auditorium at 602 Commonwealth Avenue.

Only the following students are NOT required to attend these sessions:

  • Students who are graduating or completing their program this semester
  • Students who have already applied for post-completion OPT
  • Students who have already received a SEVIS Form I-20
  • Student who are NOT in F-1 immigration status
  • Students studying in SPH, MED or SDM as we will announce sessions on the medical campus next week

Failure to attend one of these sessions may jeopardize your valid immigration status. Please contact the ISSO at 617/353-3565 if you have any questions!
