Premium Processing for H-1B Cases
All standard
USCIS processing fees for H-1B sponsorship are centrally funded
and covered by the ISSO.
However,
in the event that expedited handling is required to speed up the
final step of H-1B case adjudication, it may be necessary to request
Premium Processing service from the USCIS.
While standard
USCIS processing can often take 3-6 months, Premium Processing ensures
a USCIS response within 15 days time.
In order to request Premium
Processing on a case, the ISSO must receive a check made out as
follows:
Check Amount: |
$1,225 |
Payable to: |
U.S. Department of Homeland Security |
Addressed to: |
Department
of Homeland Security
USCIS California
Service Center
24000 Avila
Road, Room 2312
Laguna Niguel,

|
Handling Instructions: |
Check must be delivered to the ISSO (not
mailed independently to USCIS!) and must clearly reference the
H-1B employee's name to ensure that it is matched
to the correct ISSO case. |
Please bear
in mind that there are several
steps in H-1B processing and that Premium Processing only expedites
the final step of USCIS adjudication. Premium Processing cannot
speed up ISSO review or US Department of Labor prevailing wage and
LCA certification steps.
In order
to ensure sufficient time to complete H-1B processing on a case,
departments are advised to submit H-1B sponsorship requests to the
ISSO no less than six months prior to requested sponsorship start
(or extension start) date.
