Dr. Yingxia Yang, a Senior Fellow at the Boston University Institute for Sustainable Energy, is a Senior Technical Leader at Electric Power Research Institute. She has more than a decade of experience with environmental policy analysis, integrated resource planning, power system outlook assessment, wholesale market design, generation asset evaluation, and distributed resource rate design. She has assisted clients including utility companies, electricity system operators, independent power producers, government entities, and trade associations across many jurisdictions in the US and other countries including Canada, Australia, Greece, and China. Dr. Yang’s current research activities examine incorporating storage into long-term system planning, state electrification, and the impacts of federal and state climate policies.
Dr. Yang is also passionate about China energy and environmental development issues. She’s published articles and spoken on seminars and workshops about China’s clean energy development, including renewable integration, natural gas import, and wholesale electricity market reform.
Prior to joining EPRI, Dr. Yang worked at economic consulting companies Charles River Associates and The Brattle Group. She received her Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has a Master of Science in Materials Science from Tsinghua University and a B.S. in Polymer Materials and Engineering from Beijing Technology and Business University.
