The Institute for the Study of Conflict, Ideology & Policy is pleased to announce the panelists for its April 20th conference: "Sic transit...Power Transfer Moscow Style." The first session, from 10:30a.m. to 12:30a.m. will feature Institute Director Uri Ra'anan on "Stalin's Heirs." Professor Carl Linden (George Washington University) will address the coups of 1957 and 1964 (Nikita Khrushchev). Our afternoon panel, from 2:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. will feature John Dunlop (of the Hoover Institute) on the unique transition of Gorbachev to Yel'tsin, with Dr. Stephen Blank (U.S. War College, author of "A New Paradigm for Russian Security) taking up the questions lingering over the transition from Yel'tsin to President Vladimir Putin. We are particularly delighted to confirm that Boston University President Aram Chobanian will deliver the opening address, as well as joining the morning session.
