A taxi from Logan to Boston University costs around $20-$30, depending on traffic. A much cheaper ($1.00) but more complicated alternative is to take the MBTA. For this route, take the MBTA shuttle bus (free) to the blue line Airport T station. Board the train ($1.00) going Inbound . Get off at Government Center and transfer (upstairs) to the green line. Be sure to get on an WESTBOUND B train, going toward Boston College. Ride the B train to the BU Central stop, which is located on Commonwealth Avenue. Once you've gotten off the train, cross the street towards Marsh Chapel (see campus map). The George Sherman Union is located at 775 Commonwealth Avenue, a half a block west of the chapel. The reception and banquet will be held at the BU Castle, located on the BU
Campus at 225 Bay State Road at the intersection of Bay State Road and Granby
Street (note: the Castle is not marked on the BU Campus Map provided). Click

Due to the difficulty and expense of finding parking near Boston University, we strongly recommend the use of public transportation such as taxi or the MBTA.
From Logan Airport: (A rental car is really more trouble than it's
worth for this meeting, but if you insist, here it goes.) Follow the signs for
Boston/Sumner tunnel (toll= $2.00) onto the Expressway (I-93) NORTH. Take the
Back Bay/Storrow Drive exit (Exit 26) onto Storrow Drive. Stay on Storrow Drive
about 5 miles, exiting at Kenmore Square. (Hint: the Kenmore Sq. exit is to
the left. Take the left fork, but be aware that there is an immediate fork to
the right for Kenmore square.)
Follow the local
directions below.
From South:
Take I-93/Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) North to Boston. Exit onto Storrow
Drive (Exit 26). Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Exit. (Hint: the Kenmore
Sq. exit is to the left. Take the left fork, but be aware that there is an immediate
fork to the right for Kenmore square.)
From this point, Follow the
local directions below.
From North:
By Car: Take I-93 or Route 1 South to Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Exit. Follow Local Directions below. By bus, follow Rt. 3 across the bridge and exit at Kneeland St. Turn right onto Kneeland Street (it will turn into Stuart St.) and follow it to Park Square. At Park Sq., you must turn right onto Charles St. (it runs between Boston Common and Boston Garden). At first intersection, turn left onto Beacon St. and follow it into Kenmore Square. Bear right onto Commonwealth. Ave. - the Sherman Union is located at 775 Comm. Ave., 3 blocks up on the right. There will parking meters reserved for buses directly in front of the Union
From the North Shore:
Take Route 1-A through the Sumner Tunnel. Follow signs onto the Expressway North. Take the Back Bay/Storrow Drive Exit, and follow signs onto Storrow Drive. Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Exit. Follow local directions below.
From the west via the Mass Turnpike (I90):
Take the exit (Exit 18) toward Brighton/Cambridge, exit left and follow the
signs for Cambridge to the 2nd set of stop-lights. Turn right onto Storrow Drive
(which should be going ~east). Exit Storrow Dr. at the 2nd BU exit, Kenmore
Square, and follow the local
directions.
From the Kenmore Square/Commonwealth Avenue Exit of Storrow Drive:
At the first set of traffic lights, turn right onto Beacon Street. You will immediately come to a fork; take the right fork, which is Bay State Road. At the end of Bay State Road, you will come to a sign that says "Boston University" at the corner of Bay State Road and Granby St. Turn left onto Granby St. (There will be small parks on both sides.) You will come to a traffic light at the intersection with Commonwealth Ave. Turn right onto Commonwealth Ave. The George Sherman Union is located at 775 Commonwealth Ave. It will be on the northern side of the street and a few of blocks west of Kenmore Square.
By Public Transportation:
Boston University is located along the MBTA Green line. From any downtown Green Line subway station, take the "B" train heading outbound toward Kenmore Square. (If you are traveling from North Station, take any train to Park Street and transfer to a "B" train.) After Kenmore, the train will be above ground. Exit the train at the third stop above ground (Boston University Central). The George Sherman Union is located just west at 775 Commonwealth Ave.
Parking near Boston University is both limited and expensive. We strongly recommend that you use public transportation.
Parking during the day will be available in a lot for $10/day at 660 Commonwealth Ave., across the street from the George Sherman Union (see map). Metered parking on the street is scarce, and a main source of Boston revenue is from parking tickets. We can arrange for daytime parking passes if you need one. Please contact Kim Paci (kpaci@bu.edu) as soon as possible to arrange for a daytime parking pass.
Overnight parking is available for $12/night at the 660 Commonwealth Ave.
