Visiting Boston University
Visiting campus gives great insight into the experience of studying at our university. We’re confident you’ll like what you see here!
Campus visits are most productive when they are planned in advance. We recommend that you arrange meetings ahead of time with everyone you plan to speak with.
Plan Your Trip
For general questions about our programs, make an appointment to meet with Michael Williams, the Graduate Programs Administrator.
Meet Our Faculty
Prospective students are welcome to meet with our Director of Graduate Studies, Joseph Wippl, to discuss the programs that we offer.

Most of our joint degree programs have a faculty coordinator. Interested students are invited to contact the appropriate faculty coordinator from the list below.
| Global Development Policy | Kevin Gallagher |
| Latin American Studies | Susan Eckstein |
| IR & Environmental Policy | Henrik Selin |
| IR & International Communication | Denis Wu |
| IR & Juris Doctor | David Fromkin |
Other Faculty
Prospective students are welcome to peruse our faculty listing and to contact any of our faculty, either to arrange a meeting or just to chat about our programs. Please keep in mind that outside of the normal academic year (ie, over the summer or during the winter break), faculty are not often in their office and may be slow to respond.
Meet a Student

Visit a Class
Sitting in on one of our classes is a great way to experience the educational environment of our programs. Information on how to access our current term course listings can be found here. Contact the Graduate Programs Administrator to make arrangements.
How to Get Here
General information on directions can be found here and here. A campus map (in PDF form) is here. Boston Logan International Airport is the closest airport to BU.
MBTA
The MBTA (commonly called the ‘T’) is Boston’s subway/streetcar system. Details on using the T can be found here. To get to BU from Logan airport using the T, take the MBTA Blue Line shuttle bus from the terminal to the Blue Line Airport T stop. You can use the kiosks at the station to purchase a T card and add money as needed (each ride costs $2). Take the Blue Line inbound to the Government Center stop. Transfer to the B Green Line train outbound and get off at the Blandford Street stop (the first stop above ground).
Parking
The closest parking to the IR Department are the metered spots along Commonwealth Avenue, Bay State Road, and Silber Way. Information about lot parking for visitors can be found on the Parking Services website.
Lodging
Information on area hotels can be found here.
Enjoying Boston
