Prospective Graduate Students

Graduate education at Boston University reflects the quality of our faculty, the strength of our research programs and facilities, and the historical and cultural advantages of our location in Boston. Despite the significant size and diversity of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GRS), emphasis is on the individual graduate student, beginning with the proper match among interests, programs, and faculty advisers, and continuing with sustained concern for the student’s development as a scholar, researcher, practitioner, and teacher. Our MA degrees in international affairs are designed to educate and train the next generation of academics and professionals.
The IR Department offers nine Master of Arts degrees. Our programs provide students the versatility and flexibility to meet their particular interests and needs. For information on the degrees that we offer, see the Graduate Programs section of this website.
For information on applying to our MA programs, go to the How to Apply section. Information on financial issues can be found in the Financial Matters section.
Boston University’s policies provide for equal opportunity and affirmative action in employment and admission to all programs of the University.
