Specialization: International Environmental Politics, Sustainable Development, Global Governance and International Institutions, Scandinavia, and Europe.
Professor Selin's research and teaching focus broadly on international policy making and implementation on environmental and sustainability issues. On these issues, he has published journal articles in, among others, Global Environmental Politics, The Journal of European Public Policy, Global Governance, International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Economics and Law, and Ambio. He has also written several chapters for edited books on the politics of international environmental protection and sustainable development. Currently, he is conducting research on the history of global cooperation and policy making on environment and development, trans-Atlantic environmental relations, international management of hazardous chemicals, and regional climate change action in North America.
Professor Selin is the faculty coordinator for the IR & Environmental Policy program.
