The purpose of the Executive Briefings is to provide a forum in which Boston's leading executives can assess those developments and consider their implications, drawing on the resources of Boston University as a source of information and analysis about current international issues. The Executive Briefings in International Relations began after the events of September 11, 2001. It is clear today that the well-being of the Boston community and of the nation as a whole is inextricably linked to developments abroad. Only by understanding the changes afoot in the world beyond our borders can we anticipate their potential impact, be it economic, political, or personal.

Executive Briefings begin with a light breakfast at 8:00 am at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The guest speaker starts at approximately 8:30 am and present for twenty to thirty minutes.  Once the speaker has finished, the floor is opened for questions and discussion, and the Briefing adjourns not later than 9:30 am. Attendance at Executive Briefings is by invitation only and is offered to a limited number of individuals and organizations.
