Boston University IR Major launches Dukan Rowing Club in Iraq
Matt Trevithick (CAS ’08) was recently featured in a Wall Street Journal article hi-lighting his rowing club initiative on Lake Dukan in northern Iraq. At Boston University, Matt studied International Relations and rowed for the University’s crew team. Post-graduation, Matt worked for the provost’s office at the American University of Iraq, Sulaymaniyah. While working at the university, he learned about a number of Iraqi rowers who had the potential to become Olympic competitors but lacked the necessary facilities and equipment to further training. Along with a number of fellow BU alumni and Iraqi supporters, Matt set out to develop the Lake Dukan Rowing Club. The full article can be found here.
