Kevin Gallagher’s Study Featured in the Financial Times
Professor Kevin Gallagher’s new study, “The New Banks in Town: Chinese Finance in Latin America,” was exclusively featured in the Financial Times on February 16, 2012. Gallagher and collaborators estimate that Chinese government banks have provided upwards of $75 billion to Latin American governments since 2005. Among their findings was that in 2010, Chinese financial institutions lent more to Latin America than the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, and the US government combined.
