The Integrated Photonics Group conducts pioneering research in integrated photonic technologies for optical communications, microwave photonics, and sensing. Specific research areas include silicon photonics, lasers for silicon photonics, integrated nanophotonics based on 2D materials and novel plasmonics, ultrafast modulation and photodetection, photonics for microwave signal processing, transceivers for optical interconnects, photonic networks on chip for high-performance computing, electronic-photonic integration, and integrated optical signal processing based on nonlinear optics.
