Program-Specific Orientations
Leaving and Returning — Mandatory for Boston University Students
All Boston University students who have been
accepted or provisionally accepted to a study abroad or off-campus program
offered through International Programs are required to
visit the secure section of our website called “Leaving
and Returning to Campus,”
to ensure that they are familiar with the administrative aspects of study
abroad and off-campus program participation. This web page contains
important information about program deposits, financial aid, registration,
and housing.
US State Department Study Abroad Website
The US Department of State provides useful information for students and parents regarding country conditions, required documents, pre-trip preparations, health and safety, US missions abroad, emergencies, and emergency contact information.

Returned Students
Re-entry
We provide a number of resources to students returning from our programs.
Students receive a Re-entry Handbook, as well as a re-entry seminar to
help them re-adjust to life at home.
Become a Peer Advisor
Returned
students may continue their involvement with International Programs
by becoming peer advisors for students considering study abroad
with Boston University. As peer advisors, students will receive
invitations to join us at information sessions and pre-departure orientations,
and may be asked to help with responding to email inquiries from
prospective students.
Each year,
International Programs hosts over 40 exchange students from around
the world. We invite returned students to share their off-campus
study experiences by becoming peer advisors for exchange students.
As volunteers, students will help us welcome students to Boston
and assist with their orientation and transition.
Show us your photos!
After you complete the program, we're hoping you're so excited with your new
photo album that you will come show it to us. We will give you a special gift
for stopping by, and maybe you will see your memories on our website or in one
of our publications!
