Australia

Students in the field of education have the opportunity to gain international teaching experience through Boston University’s School of Education Program. Students complete the four-credit core course, AN 368 Australian Culture and Society, during the first six weeks of the semester while completing a 10-credit teaching practicum. Upon successful completion of a semester students earn 14 Boston University credits.

Application Deadlines

Fall Semester: March 15

Admissions Requirements

• Boston University students only
• Minimum GPA: 3.0 (in major and overall)
• Students must complete the 14-credit program

Program Dates
Fall Semester: August 26th to December 14th, 2009

Program Cost
2009/2010 Tuition and Fees: $22,810.

The following are included in the program fee:
• Tuition
• Housing
• Airfare from a designated US city
• Field trips
• Emergency travel assistance coverage

Additional expenses to consider.

The cost for 2010/2011 has not yet been announced and will be subject to approval by the Board of Trustees at Boston University.

Ecuador

Students in the field of education have the opportunity to gain international teaching experience through Boston University’s School of Education Program and the Collegio Menor (a renowned private bilingual school approximately 10 minutes from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in the valley of Cumbaya). The program includes specialized coursework in cross-cultural studies and student teaching in a community institution. Upon successful completion of a semester students earn 10-13 Boston University credits.

Application Deadlines

Fall Semester: March 15

Admissions Requirements

• Boston University students only
• Minimum GPA: 3.0 (in major and overall)
• Spanish Language not required
• All students must complete the minimum 10-credit program

Program Dates
Fall Semester: August 22nd to December 20th, 2009

Program Cost
2009/2010 Tuition and Fees: $24,879 per semester.

The following are included in the program fee:
• Tuition
• Housing
• Board
• Airfare from a degsignated US city
• Book allowance
• Field trips
• Emergency travel assistance coverage

Additional expenses to consider.

The cost for 2010/2011 has not yet been announced and will be subject to approval by the Board of Trustees at Boston University.

England

BU students in the field of education have the opportunity to gain international teaching experience through Boston University’s School of Education and Roehampton University, a leader in teacher education. Situated in a parkland setting in southwest London, Roehampton is one of the largest teacher training centers in Great Britain, with approximately one-third of its 8,000 students enrolled in teacher certification programs. The program includes specialized coursework in cross-cultural studies and student teaching in a community institution. Upon successful completion of a semester students earn 14 Boston University credits.

Admissions Requirements

• Boston University students only
• Minimum GPA: 3.0 (in major and overall)
• Students must complete the 14-credit program

Fall Semester: August 24th to December 12th, 2009

Housing check-in by noon on August 24th.
