Fall Semester: August 22nd to December 20th, 2009
Spring Semester: January 2nd to May 16th, 2010
Academic Year: August 22nd, 2009 to mid-May, 2010

The Quito Language and Liberal Arts Program immerses students in the cultural and ecological diversity of the northern Andean country of Ecuador, through direct enrollment in university coursework and all-inclusive excursions throughout the country.

Students in this program are considered full-time undergraduates at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), a modern private university located in the valley town of Cumbayá, on the outskirts of Quito. Students have access to the full curriculum of USFQ. The program also features a guided excursion to the Galápagos Islands and an excursion to the Amazon rainforest, two trips to the famous Otavalo Indian market, a guided tour of the colonial architecture of Quito, and several other day trips. Boston University resident staff accompany students on all excursions. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 15 to 18 Boston University credits.
