
Sydney Engineering Program
Upper division engineering students at Boston University have the opportunity to take technical and engineering courses through direct enrollment at the University of Sydney. This program combines the best of local university study and Boston University’s excellent on-site housing, staff, and activities. Upon successful completion of the semester students earn 16 Boston University credits.

Students enrolled in this program will typically choose three technical courses. In addition, students will enroll in one course on Australian culture and society. Students in the Sydney Engineering Program live with other BU program participants in Unilodge or other comparable, fully furnished student housing. Students have full access to the facilities and services of the University of Sydney.

For Spring 2010, the application deadline has been extended to October 31, 2009.
Admissions Calendar:
Review of applications will begin according to the following timetable.
Admissions Requirements:
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Junior standing in the Boston University College of Engineering
• Many courses carry prerequisites
• Students must follow the College of Engineering's instructions for juniors applying to study abroad, complete the Engineering course substitution form and return to the ENG Undergraduate Records Office
• Students must complete the 16-credit program

Program Cost
2009/2010 Tuition and Fees: $22,810
The following are included in the program fee:
• Tuition
• Housing
• Airfare from designated West Coast cities
• Field trips
• Emergency travel assistance coverage
The cost for 2010/2011 has not yet been announced and will be subject to approval by the Board of Trustees at Boston University.
Travel:
The program arranges a trans-Pacific group flight that is included in the program fee. We recommend that students take this flight.
