England

London Art History Program with the Courtauld Institute of Art
New for fall 2009 is an extraordinary new opportunity for art history students. Boston University has become the North American partner of the most prestigious art history institute in the United Kingdom and perhaps all of Europe, the renowned Courtauld Institute of Art of the University of London. The institute houses a superb art collection that includes iconic masterpieces featured in all introductory art history survey books.

France

Grenoble Science Program
New for fall 2009, the Grenoble Science Program, offered only during the fall semester, is an ideal choice for pre-health and other science students. This unique program combines science coursework with French language study in an international setting. Offered fall semseters only.

Ireland

Dublin Internship Program: Health Science Track
New for fall 2008 and offered only during the fall semester, the Health Sciences Track of the Dublin Internship Program is an excellent fit for students in the health sciences, including pre-med, public health, PT/OT and nursing. This program combines an Ethics in Health Care course with Health and Human Services internship, as well as coursework on various aspects of Ireland’s dynamic history and contemporary culture.

Lebanon

Exchange: American University of Beirut
Students have the opportunity to enroll directly at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for a semester or an academic year. The American University of Beirut was founded in 1866 as a private, independent, non-sectarian institution of higher learning and is now a major university with over 7,000 students located on a 73-acre campus overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The University provides a rigorous curriculum in the American liberal arts tradition and the language of instruction is English.

Morocco

Rabat Language and Liberal Arts Program
Beginning in spring 2009, students will have the opportunity to study Arabic language and Islamic and North African culture in Rabat, the cosmopolitan, capital city of Morocco. In this program students will study Arabic language and, through coursework, homestays, and excursions, examine the history, politics, and religion of Morocco and this ever-changing region of the world.

Study Abroad Exhibition

An exhibition of visual arts work created by students on our Tuscany Landscape Painting Program, our Venice Studio Arts Program, and our Graphic Design in Britain course was held at Gallery 5 in the College of Fine Arts.

Exhibition Opening: Tuesday, September 2, 2008, 5-7pm

855 Commonwealth Ave. 5th floor

The exhibit was on display until September 30th.

Staff Updates

Boston University International Programs is happy to welcome three new staff members to our office in Boston. Dr. Elizabeth Goldsmith is our new Director of Academic Affairs. A Professor of French in the Department of Romance Studies, Dr. Goldsmith was recently featured in the Research at Boston University magazine and companion website. Sarah Williams is our new Administrative Records Coordinator and Julia Keith is a new Program Coordinator. John Aslanian has been promoted to Marketing & Communications Coordinator, and Chiyo King to Student Services Administrator.
