Q. I haven’t studied a foreign language. Can I still study abroad?

A. Yes. Language learning is not the only reason to go abroad, and Boston University now offers programs in Sydney, Australia; London and Oxford, England; Dublin, Ireland; Auckland, New Zealand, and Los Angeles and Washington, DC, as well as more specialized English language programs in Dresden, Germany, Geneva, Switzerland, and Quito, Ecuador.

Q: How early can I start applying? When is it too late to apply?

A: Our deadlines come three times a year: October 15 for spring programs, March 1 for summer programs, and March 15 for fall or academic year programs. It is possible to apply after the program deadline. We will accept applications until the program is full. Please call our office for more information.

Q: Can I spend more than one semester abroad?

A: Absolutely! Many students spend consecutive semesters at their study abroad destination, or combine two different sites for a year abroad.

Q: Do students with only certain majors study abroad?
