Research Interests
His current research interests include the interplay between racism and economic shortage in Soviet-style regimes, industrial espionage, and the history of money.
Publications
In addition to chapters in edited volumes, Zatlin has published articles in German History, German Politics and Society, and Zeitschrift für Geschichstwissenschaft and in 2007 published The Currency of Socialism: Money and Political Culture in East Germany (Cambridge University Press).
Awards
Among the awards he has received are Fulbright and Social Science Research Council Fellowships.
