What is a certificate program?

A certificate program, shorter and less structured than a formal degree program, teaches knowledge and skills in a specialized area and awards a certificate after participants complete a series of required courses. Unlike other face-to-face certificate programs, the IGSW online Certificate in Aging program is self-paced and taken entirely online, designed for busy professionals who want to advance in their careers on a flexible and convenient schedule.

A great way to enhance your qualifications and resume, the IGSW online Certificate in Aging allows you to demonstrate expertise in the growing field of aging.  The IGSW online Certificate in Aging is designed to provide you with a core foundation of knowledge and skills in aging.  Each required course is interactive and contains images, instructional activities, case studies, video clips, and a discussion board to maximize learning and skills building. In a 2005 survey of social service agencies and healthcare organizations in Boston, nearly 90% of program directors agreed that they would choose a candidate with a certificate in aging over someone with comparable qualifications without a certificate.

Is this an academic certificate program?
