IGSW Online Certificate in Aging Program

The IGSW online Certificate in Aging program is a flexible, self-paced and user-friendly continuing education program. This online certificate program allows you to complete your coursework whenever and wherever is convenient, making it easy for busy professionals.

Let IGSW’s online Certificate in Aging give you an edge.  IGSW’s online certificate program provides you with a core foundation of knowledge and skills in aging that you can apply in your current position and use to advance your career in a growing field.  

Requirements

Complete 5 courses at your own pace, within a period of one year from your enrollment date.  The 5 required courses are:

  • A Guide to the Aging Network
    This interactive, self-paced course provides an overview of the aging and long-term care service system currently available for and used by older adults and their families. (4 CEUs)
  • Basic Issues in Aging
    This interactive, self-paced course will provide an overview of Basic Issues in Aging, including the biological, psychological and social context of aging. (5 CEUs)
  • Geriatric Assessment
    This interactive, self-paced course provides an overview of conducting a comprehensive geriatric assessment that is appropriate for social workers and other social service and health professionals in any setting. (4 CEUs)
  • Mental Health & Aging Issues
    This interactive, self-paced course will provide an introduction to mental health disorders that are prevalent in older adults. (4 CEUs)
  • Substance Abuse Among Older Adults
    This interactive, self-paced course will provide a introduction of substance use in older adults, as well as interventions and policy issue. (4 CEUs)
Cost

The IGSW online Certificate in Aging program is affordably priced at $500, and includes 21 CEUs for licensed social workers.  Upon completion of the program, all participants will receive a Certificate in Aging from IGSW at Boston University.
