Introduction of International
Educational Development Program Karen Boatman An intensive 40-credit program for professionals in many disciplines who are designing, implementing, or evaluating programs for local, regional, or national development. Students develop a broad understanding of education and training; insight into political, social, cultural, and organizational dynamics; and analytical and planning skills essential to leadership in educational change, especially in developing nations. Ordinarily, students begin in September and complete the program with the defense of a master's thesis 16 months later, taking a core curriculum that examines various perspectives (cultural, political, economic, epistemological, pedagogical) on education for development as well as an internship in an agency or institution.
