The Boston University Center for the Humanities is affiliated with several organizations which promote communication between and political awareness of the various institutions for the humanities in the United States and abroad.
The National Humanities Alliance – (NHA) Founded in 1981, the National Humanities Alliance is a non-profit organization to advance national humanities policy in the areas of research, education, preservation and public programs. BUCH has been a member since 2009.
The Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes – (CHCI) Established in 1988, the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes serves as a site for the discussion of issues germane to the fostering of cross disciplinary activity and as a network for the circulation of information and the sharing of resources within the humanities and interpretive social sciences. CHCI has a membership of about 188 members and affiliates in 24 countries. BUCH has been a member since 2009.
