Quotes

SUPPORT from The Center for the Humanities has benefited me in several critical ways. Through our discussions, I have learned about other fields of endeavor in the humanities. I have also enjoyed being pushed outside my intellectual “comfort zone,” and believe that I am a more circumspect scholar for it. The grasp I have on my own project has deepened both theoretically and historically. While the responses I received after presenting my work to the seminar were invaluable, I learned still more from listening to others speak about their own work.

Off-cycle applications for Project and Visiting Scholar Awards

Although we urge faculty to plan events and apply for funding well in advance, we are aware that there are sometimes emerging opportunities. We therefore accept applications on a rolling basis for awards for events taking place in the current academic year. If you are filing an off-cycle application of this kind, it is necessary for you to explain why you were not able to request funding on the normal time-frame. Also, please note that because the budget is set one year in advance, Off-Cycle awards are usually small.
