Orientation
We take great pride in educating and integrating new employees into the BU community. All new regular full- and part-time employees working at least 75 percent time are required to attend the BU Employee Experience orientation. This comprehensive program covers the resources available to new employees and the benefits for which each specific employee is eligible.
The HR representative responsible for hiring a new employee informs him or her of the orientation session date. This information will also be included in the new employee’s employment confirmation letter.
Orientation is held on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the BU Experience located at 602 Commonwealth Avenue.
Orientation is held on Mondays at 9:00 a.m. at BU Medical Campus Human Resources located at 801 Massachusetts Avenue, Crosstown Center, Suite 400.
Faculty and Research Staff Not Hired Through HR
Please contact the appropriate Human Resources campus to schedule orientation. On the Charles River Campus please contact HR at 617-353-4044 and on the Medical Campus please contact HR at 617-638-4610 to schedule orientation for any new faculty or research staff member not hired through Human Resources. The employee will be placed in the earliest available orientation session.
Faculty Orientation
Special faculty orientation sessions are held at the beginning of each school year. For a copy of the schedule, or to schedule a new faculty member to attend an orientation session, a member of the hiring department should contact Benefits at 617-353-4709.
