Job Requisitions (PS1)
The PS-1 is BU’s job requisition form. Without a completed PS-1, HR can not post a job opening or fill a job vacancy.
You must fill out the form completely and submit it for departmental approval. Because each department handles the process differently, make sure you follow your specific approval process. You must follow the requisition process for your campus, as outlined below.
Charles River Campus
Final requisition approval must be provided by the Provost, Executive Vice President, or President.
The approved Charles River PS-1 will be forwarded to the Budget Office and then to HR for posting. Open jobs will be posted on a regular daily basis.
Once the PS1 is received in HR, HR will review the PS1 and job description to ensure accuracy and confirm any necessary information for posting. If all the required posting information is set, the job will proceed through the HR posting process and be posted to the BU HR site. In most cases the job will be posted within 2 days of receipt of the PS1 in Human Resources.
Medical Campus
The approved Medical Campus PS-1 will be forwarded to Human Resources. Final budgetary approval must come from Business Affairs.
All requisition forms received in Human Resources by noon on Tuesday, will be posted online by Friday of the same week.
