BU Applicant Tracking System (OpenHire)
OpenHire, the applicant tracking system used at Boston University, allows you to review resumés electronically, communicate directly with your HR representative, and effectively manage job applicants’ resumés.
Once a position is posted on the HR website, the hiring manager will automatically receive an e-mail from HR confirming that the position has been posted. This e-mail will go to the individual identified in the “Refer Applicants to:” section of the PS-1.
Here’s an example of an e-mail a hiring manager will receive:
This is to inform you that the PS-1 for the position [TITLE] has been received by Human Resources. The position will be posted on [DATE] in the Job Opportunities section of the Human Resources website under the tracking code [XXXX/XXXX].
Viewing Resumés
As soon as a resumé is ready for your review, an ETS, ERR, or designated recruiter, will send you an e-mail. Simply click on the “OpenHire” link in the e-mail to go directly to the login page. On this page, enter your username and password to enter the site.
- If you are a new user, you will receive a separate e-mail directly from “OpenHire Customer Support” with your username and password.
- If you already have an account with OpenHire, your username is the first part of your e-mail address. For example, if your e-mail address is jsmith@bu.edu, your username would be jsmith.
If you ever forget your password, simply click “Forgot your password?” at the bottom of the Customer Login area. You will automatically receive an e-mail with your password.
Once you are in the system, you can begin reviewing submitted resumés for your job posting.
