BU Identification Card (Terrier Card)
The BU Terrier Card is the official ID card for Boston University students, faculty, and staff.
The Terrier Card is used for building access, borrowing privileges at Boston University libraries, discounts at the Barnes & Noble at BU, dining at the Faculty Staff Dining Room, and discounts to University events as well as other benefits both on and off campus.
Human Resources does not issue student Terrier Cards. Please visit the student Terrier Card website for more information.
New Employee Terrier Card
All regular full- and part-time staff hired through Human Resources and all regular full- and part-time faculty members who attend new employee orientation will receive a Terrier Card the week of their orientation.
Where and When to Get a Terrier Card
Stop by Human Resources located at 25 Buick Street, second floor, any weekday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to get your Terrier Card. Please make sure to bring a government-issued form of photo identification (e.g., driver’s license, passport) when you come to get your Terrier Card.
All regular full- and part-time staff hired through Human Resources and all regular full- and part-time faculty members who attend new employee orientation will be instructed to report to the ID office, located at 710 Albany Street, so as to receive a Terrier Card the week of their orientation.
Cards for Affiliates
Some temporary agency employees, temporary employees, and other affiliates of Boston University may need a Terrier Card for University business purposes. Please refer to Terrier Card for Affiliates for information on how to obtain a card.
