Changing or Stopping Coverage

Because you pay for your coverage with before-tax dollars, the provisions of Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code also govern how and when you may make changes in your Dental Health Plan coverage. Under the current provisions of Section 125, once a year during the annual open enrollment period, you may:

  • Change the level of your coverage (that is, move from one of the four tiers to another),
  • Enroll for coverage, or
  • Cancel your coverage

The only other time you may make a change in your Dental Health Plan coverage other than during the annual open enrollment period is if you have a life or career event.
