Holiday & Intersession Announcement

Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce our Holiday and Intersession schedule for the period September, 2011 through August, 2012.

Boston University will observe an Intersession closing between Christmas and New Year’s Day, which will permit most employees the opportunity to spend more time with their families and friends during the holiday season.

Regular employees not covered by collective bargaining agreements will receive time off at their regular rate of pay during the Intersession. Employees who are required to work and to perform essential services will receive compensatory time off at a later time. Represented employees’ time off and pay for Holidays and the Intersession are governed by their collective bargaining agreements.

A complete list of University holidays and intersession days through Independence Day, 2012 can be found within the main Boston University calendar. The total number of holidays and intersession days is sixteen, significantly more than most Boston area employers provide.

If you have any questions regarding this schedule, please contact your Human Resources Consultant in the Human Resources office.

Yours sincerely,

Robert A. Brown
