Other Discounts

Being an urban campus makes it possible to take advantage of our larger campus—the City of Boston, and its many outstanding museums, performance venues, services, resources… and much more. As a BU employee, you receive a number of discounts to sites and services—both on the Boston University campus and throughout the city.

Boston Museum of Science

If you’re a full-time faculty or staff employee, you can take advantage of Boston University’s corporate membership to the Boston Museum of Science and explore the Exhibit Hall, Butterfly Garden, 3-D Theater, Planetarium, and Omni Theater—for free!

Please keep in mind that there are a limited number of passes available, and they are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Also, to allow as many employees as possible to take advantage of this offer, you may receive a maximum of three tickets per year.

You can pick up your tickets on the Charles River Campus at Human Resources, 25 Buick Street, 2nd Floor, and on the Medical Campus at the Human Resources front desk, 801 Massachusetts Avenue, Crosstown Center, Suite 400. You must present your Terrier Card. Please note that you cannot reserve passes by phone or have them mailed to you, and you may not pick up passes for other employees.

On the Charles River Campus please call Sammantha Kramer at 617-353-4463 or e-mail skramer@bu.edu with any questions. Medical Campus employees please call the Human Resources front desk at 617-638-4610.

Boston Symphony Orchestra College Card

The Boston University Dean of Students and College of Fine Arts make the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s College Card available to all BU students, faculty, and staff at no cost.

BU faculty and staff can present their BSO College Card at the Symphony Hall box office and receive a half-price ticket for more than 20 concerts and open rehearsals (more dates are added throughout the year). (BU students who present their College Card at the box office will receive a free ticket to these concerts and rehearsals.) Cards must be presented in combination with a BU ID at the Symphony Hall box office on the day of the performance to receive a ticket.

To receive a BSO College Card, students, faculty, and staff only need to show their BU ID. Cards are limited to one per person. Faculty and staff may pick up their cards at Human Resources on either campus. Just remember, you must show your BU ID.

Register your College Card on the BSO’s website to find out what performances are available, as well as to sign up to receive e-mail alerts when new performances are added.
