Helpful Benefit Enrollment Tips for New Employees
Family Members and PCPs
If you are enrolling in coverage which will include family members, you must add them to your Personal Information prior to beginning the enrollment process. Follow these steps to add them to your record:
- Go to BUworks Central portal at www.bu.edu/buworkscentral.
- Click the Employee Self-Service tab in the BUworks Central portal.
- Click the Personal Information link to enter your spouse and dependent child information.
- The Physicians section is where you indicate the name and ID# for the family member’s PCP (primary care physician). This is required for enrollment in BCBS Network Blue New England.
- Click the Benefits and Pay link.
- Click the Benefits Medical Information link. This is where you enter your own PCP information.
- Click the Benefits and Pay tab to begin the Benefits enrollment process.
