Health Policy Institute (HPI)
Since its founding in 1975, under the direction of Richard H. Egdahl, M.D., the Health Policy Institute (HPI) at Boston University has engaged in numerous health policy research studies, and has functioned as a laboratory for developing and testing innovative solutions to health system problems.
The Health Policy Institute (HPI) today consists of the Health Policy Research Program and several affiliated health care research and policy programs. In addition to the HPRP, the Policy Institute programs include: The RWJ Scholars in Health Policy Research Program, The Health Care Entrepreneurship Program, The Management of Variability Program, and The Center for Educational Development in Health. The HPI is also affiliated with the Boston University Health and Disability Research Institute.
