Dining Service
If you are assigned to a dormitory-style residence,
you must choose a dining plan. Three dining plans are available;
each comes with a specific allotment of meals per week and the option
to purchase Convenience Points. Meals may be used for all-you-care-to-eat
breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner meals at Warren Towers, 700
Commonwealth Avenue. Convenience Points may be used like cash to
buy additional meals served at Warren Towers, or to dine at any
of the on-campus dining locations open during the summer on an à
la carte basis, or at Campus and City Convenience stores, Barnes
& Noble at Boston University, Agganis Arena concessions, most
vending machines on campus, and laundry machines in the larger residences.
To start off the summer, we recommend an opening balance of $100
to $300 in Convenience Points to cover some basic needs.
Dining plans are valid for the full seven-day dining week, beginning
Monday through Sunday. If you are assigned to dormitory-style residences
and do not choose a dining plan, you will be assigned to the 14
Plus with no Convenience Points. Dining plan changes will be allowed only during the first
week of each summer session. For Summer Session 1, the deadline
for dining plan changes is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009; for Summer
Session 2, the deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009. To change
dining plans, you must bring your Boston University Terrier Card
to the Terrier Card Office, 775 Commonwealth Avenue, lower level
and complete a dining plan change form. Changes will become effective
on the first Monday following the submission of the change request.
There may be costs associated with dining plan changes. No refund
is given for unused meals.
If you are assigned to an apartment-style residence or
live off campus, you have the option to purchase a dining
plan or Convenience Points Plan. If you select this option, you
must complete an Optional Dining Plan Agreement for one of the three
dining plans offered or a Convenience Points Plan Agreement for
a points-only plan. Optional Dining Plan and Convenience Points
Plan Agreements will be available at the beginning of the summer
at the Terrier Card Office.
Additional Convenience Points can be purchased throughout the summer
in increments of $25 at the Terrier Card Office from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m., Monday through Friday.
