TELEPHONES

All on-campus rooms are wired to give students individual telephone lines. Each resident who contracts for local telephone service with Verizon is solely responsible for the bill. At a minimum, there are installation charges and a monthly service charge. Visit the Office of Telecommunications for comprehensive information about resident telephone services options.

Students must bring their own telephone sets. However, there is no need to bring an answering machine, as all telephone lines are equipped with a voice mailbox at no additional charge.

The University will not mediate roommate disputes over telephone bills or issues. Roommates should agree on all telephone arrangements at the beginning of the year. Any questions about charges on the local service bill should be referred to Verizon.

During the first week of classes Verizon, CampusLink, and the Office of Telecommunications will be on campus to help students with telephone needs.
