About
Boston University maintains
a number of apartment-style residences for our students. While
the majority of these are in the South Campus area, along Buswell
Street, Arundel Street, Mountfort Street, St. Mary's Street, and
Park Drive, there are apartment-style residences in Student Village, on Bay State Road
and on Commonwealth Avenue as well.
Apartment occupancy
varies from one to six residents, while size and floor plans vary
considerably. All apartments are furnished and equipped with kitchen
facilities and bathrooms (though not necessarily a "living room").
Students must provide their own kitchen utensils, cleaning items,
and bathroom supplies.
Term of occupancy for apartment-style accommodations is the same
as for the undergraduate academic year as stated in the Terms and
Conditions of the Residence License Agreement. The apartment-style
residences are generally open during Thanksgiving and spring recesses.
Upperclassmen receive first priority for apartment-style accommodations.
In on-campus University apartments, students find that sharing the
experience of home cooking and communal living is a great way to
live on campus. Students who want the apartment experience
but do not want to do their own cooking may choose to purchase a
dining plan and continue to eat in the residence dining rooms. Participation
in the University's dining program is optional for apartment residents.
