HOW TO APPLY

Residences and on-campus dining facilities are closed during the official University vacation periods in the undergraduate programs. These vacation periods occur at Thanksgiving/fall recess, between the fall and spring semesters, and during spring recess in March. Refer to the 2008–09 Residence Calendar for the dates residences close and reopen for vacation periods. Upon application and depending upon space availability, students may, at the discretion of the Director of Housing, be granted permission to remain in residence during these vacation periods. In that event, they may be responsible for additional charges and temporarily reassigned.

All University apartment-style residences remain open during fall recess, between the fall and spring semesters, and during spring recess. Students assigned to apartment-style residences may stay in their residences during this period without extra charge.

Who Can Apply
All dormitory-style residences close for the three official University vacation periods: fall recess, semester break, and spring recess.

Students residing in dormitory-style residences who wish to remain on campus during these periods may apply for vacation housing. Those who apply will be housed in a local area hotel and a charge for the applicable vacation housing rate will be posted to their student accounts.

Important to note: Placement in vacation housing is based upon space availability. The University does not provide dining services during official vacation periods.
