Jacqueline Sonnabend serves as Senior Director Organizational and Talent Development, Reit Management and Research, Sonesta Collection, the hotel business her grandfather, A.M. Sonnabend, founded in the 1940’s. In this capacity, she oversees the process for a hotel entering the Sonesta Brand family in the areas of operations, Sonesta culture, employee training, and Sonesta quality. She leads the Training Department in the development and delivery of training programs for managers and staff, customized for each hotel property. She works with the management teams of the hotels to ensure that guest expectations are exceeded in the areas of quality, comfort and service. On two occasions, Ms. Sonnabend assumed daily responsibility for the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston when she stepped in as interim General Manager. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Sonnabend served as V.P. Human Resources, a position she had held since 1985.
Throughout her career, she has conducted training sessions for various organizations, such as American Society for Training and Development, Big Sisters Association of Boston, Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, and Meeting Professionals International, to name a few. Ms. Sonnabend is an Adjunct Faculty Member of Boston University School of Hospitality where she sits on the Dean’s Advisory Board.
She received a B.A. degree from Brandeis University, M.A. from Columbia Teachers College, and an M.B.A. from New York University.
