Prospective Students
What you'll learn
Profile: Matt Thompson, Junior
Because the School of Hospitality Administration fosters a welcoming community and open communication, Matt has developed excellent relationships with each of his professors. He knows that he is welcome to stop by their offices any time and frequently does so between classes.
“I knew I wanted to study hospitality right out of high school. I applied early decision to Boston University because I realized the quality of education was going to be of the highest caliber. I loved that I would be able to learn from experts in the field, and be right in the heart of a major city. In addition, I was drawn to the very personal attention I would get here. The faculty are wonderfully accessible. I can always go speak to a professor if I want to, and it doesn’t have to be class-related. When I started considering an internship with the Walt Disney College Program, the first person I went to was Professor Buchin, and he was the first person at SHA I spoke to about it when I got back. I feel fortunate to be in a school where the faculty cares so much about students. I definitely feel supported by them every step of the way. If I had the choice to make again, I would still choose SHA.”
