How you'll learn

BostonFrom a University that brings together students from more than a hundred nations to a city where one of five people is a college student, studying at Boston University is an unrivaled experience. School of Hospitality Administration majors are exposed to an astonishing array of cultures and backgrounds — essential for work in a global industry such as hospitality. Students at the School come to view Boston from the inside out. The School’s extensive networking within Boston’s hospitality sector allows students access to the people behind some of the great restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality-related businesses that make this city thrive.

School of Hospitality Administration students have the city of Boston at their fingertips. With more than a thousand restaurants (and growing), hundreds of hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, convention centers, athletic venues, country clubs, and hospitality organizations to explore, Boston is the place to study hospitality administration. Studying in the city allows students to experience what they learn in the classroom; a typical assignment involves surveying a local hotel or critiquing an area restaurant. Many of the School’s clubs hold their meetings in hotels or restaurants downtown, employing all the city has to offer. In addition to the nearly four hundred registered student activities at Boston University, the School of Hospitality Administration offers opportunities for students to socialize, share interests, and begin to build their own professional network. They come to know each other — as well as the faculty and staff — as colleagues. Most students agree that the size of the School is one of its main attractions. It is a tight-knit and supportive community offering access to a superb university and a thriving, diverse city.
