Where you'll go

BU CampusSince its founding in 1981, the School of Hospitality Administration has thoroughly integrated itself into the workings of the hospitality industry in Boston and around the world. The School’s well-established network gives students a built-in link to professional contacts; because of that and its outstanding reputation among the industry’s leaders, Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration graduates enjoy a nearly 100-percent placement rate in the hospitality industry. In fact, many students receive multiple job offers.

The School’s faculty and staff get to know each student’s talents, strengths, and areas of interest, and serve as references for job applications. Industry leaders themselves, faculty members are positioned to keep students informed regarding professional opportunities.

The School’s Career Services and Corporate Relations Office helps both undergraduates seeking part-time employment and graduating seniors who are preparing to enter the job market. The office offers job and résumé counseling, as well as extensive employment listings for both short-term and permanent positions. Opportunities may include a one-night catering stint, a summertime marketing internship, or full-time employment as a hotel manager or events planning specialist. The relationship with Career Services need not end upon graduation, as the office provides continued assistance for alumni of the School.

MarriotEvery year, companies visit the School to recruit qualified students. Recent visits have included a variety of companies such as ARAMARK, Four Seasons, Hyatt Hotels, Marriott Corporation, MICROS Systems, Inc., Restaurant Associates, Ritz Carlton, and Sheraton Corporation.

Students also benefit from a very strong Alumni Network, an enthusiastic and outgoing group that provides insight and tips that make the job search even easier. In fact, many of our alumni have several School of Hospitality Administration graduates working for or with them as colleagues. Our alumni work across the United States and around the world, in many different areas of hospitality management, including hotels and fine-dining establishments as well as computer companies and consulting firms.
