Mike Oshins

Assistant Professor of Hospitality Administration

Professional Biography

Mike OshinsSince his arrival to BU School of Hospitality in 1989, Dr. Oshins has taught ten different courses, and is currently teaching Introduction to the Industry, Hospitality Technology, Management Simulation and Leadership. Prior to his arrival at Boston University, Dr. Oshins was Vice President of Integer Dynamics - a hospitality consulting focused in operational and technology-based productivity & quality consulting services. He has been published in The Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Quarterly and an article review for the Harvard Business Review. His operations experience includes hotels, restaurants and country clubs. Dr. Oshins earned his undergraduate degree in literature and rhetoric from Binghamton University, graduate degree from Cornell University in hotel administration and doctorate in Human Resource Education from Boston University. His thesis analyzed the knowledge, skills and traits differences between good versus great hotel managers. He currently lives in Newton with his wife and three young children.
