Corporate Recruitment Schedule
FALL 2009 Recruitment
SHA students who wish to participate in corporate recruitment must post their résumé on SHATrak via the SHA web site. It is imperative that you notify Jamie Fiore and fill out online applications (where necessary) by the deadline posted below. No late notifications or applications are accepted.
*Please be aware that when you submit your resume for consideration you will only be contacted if a company has selected you for an interview.
Business attire is required to interview and is strongly suggested for presentations. You only have one chance to make a 'first impression'. Preparatory work is key - research companies before you interview. This will help you to determine which company interests you most and knowledge of the company will put you far ahead of other candidates. Recruiters want to know 'why' you want to work for them. Presentations are mandatory for students that are interviewing but they are open to all SHA students. This is a great opportunity to learn about a company and meet their corporate recruiters. You do not have to sign up for an interview to attend.

• Interviewing WINTER and SPRING EXTERNS ONLY •
WHAT IS AN EXTERNSHIP: In 2002 Starwood introduced shortterm
externships as an innovative way to connect with and mentor students
during their breaks from school. We are pleased to continue the program next winter break and to provide a new
option for students to participate during spring break 2010. Externs are immersed in the operation of a hotel
department and are introduced to the culture of Starwood and one of its brands. Externs are given project
experience, the opportunity to expand their professional network and exposure to a concentration area which will
aid in their career planning for later internships and placement after graduation.
* Presentation: Monday, October 19th at 5:00 p.m. in SHA Auditorium
Interviews: Tuesday, October 20th
All students who would like to be considered for an externship with Starwood must complete the mandatory online application, as soon as it is available, in addition to following their school’s procedure. No exceptions can be made.
