Deborah Margolin's IMAGINING MADOFF

  • Starts: 7:30 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014
New Repertory Theatre and Boston Center for American Performance will present an encore extension of Deborah Margolin's IMAGINING MADOFF, directed by Elaine Vaan Hogue, May 28-June 1, with a talk-back on June 1st. In Obie Award-winning Margolin’s controversial new play, we witness imagined jail conversations between Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff and Solomon Galkin, a poet and Holocaust survivor. In a high moral showdown, these two Jewish men banter about women, baseball, the Talmud, human decency, kindness, and the story of Abraham and Isaac, revealing much about greed and the forces that led us to the Great Recession. According to DC Theatre Scene, “we know the what already; in Imagining Madoff, we seek the why.” Running Time: Approximately 1 hour, 35 minutes without intermission. Tickets: $36 General Admission | $31 seniors, New Rep Subscribers, groups of 10+ | $20 students (advance) | $18 CFA Membership | $15 student rush | $10 College of Fine Arts students.
