Why did you choose SHA?
I chose SHA because the overall diversity of the experience. What other major allows you to take a cooking class, finance, accounting, law, economics, foreign language, travel abroad (work in a hotel), and take all of the core requirements for SHA?

What are some of your favorite BU memories?
Traveling abroad to London and working in a 4 star hotel. Additionally, just being apart of a smaller setting with the SHA campus and being apart of the BU community.

What was your first full-time job? How did you end up in your current position?
My first full time job was working at the Hilton Corporate office in Los Angeles before the office moved headquarters to Washington DC.

Please describe your current role. How did your SHA education impact your career?
I am currently an Attorney representing the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services involving child custody cases. While it may not seem like I have chosen to pursue the hospitality route, I distinctly remember a couple of professors, such as Professor Kwag, discussing how a lot of hospitality students end up going to law school. Moreover, taking a law class at SHA also helped pique my curiosity in the legal field. I have always wanted to keep my options open, and SHA does a fantastic job of allowing you to pursue whatever area you chose going forward. Law and Hospitality are both service industries; there is always a client you have to put first.

Any advice for current and prospective students?
Try to take advantage of all the amazing opportunities offered at BU and particularly through SHA.
