Transferring Credit
For students transferring to Boston University:
Of the courses required for the concentration, at least five (if major was declared before Fall 2011) or seven (if major was declared after Fall 2011) must be taken at Boston University: the core methodology course (CAS HI 200), the two seminars, and two (pre-2011 requirements) or four (post-2011 requirements) additional courses at the 200 level or above.
Transfer course approval for students already at Boston University:
To obtain approval for courses completed at other institutions in the United States, a student should procure a transfer credit approval form in their home school’s records office. Take the form, together with a class syllabus, to the History Department office. The departmental Director of Undergraduate Studies will examine the request and, if approval is given, sign the form, which may be picked up by the student or returned to the student’s home school records office. Please note: A course syllabus is required.
Courses in Metropolitan College
Cross-registration into Metropolitan College is ordinarily limited to the junior and senior years and to one course per semester. No more than four MET courses may be counted toward a History Major. No more than three MET courses may be counted toward a History Minor. MET courses do not fulfill the seminar requirement of either the History Major or Minor.
