Because the History major is so flexible, the department encourages students to consider studying abroad. All History courses taken at programs that are directly administered by Boston University, such as the London program, will automatically be applied for credit to the major. More information on study abroad programs can be found here.

Students attending programs that are not directly administered by Boston University must petition the Director of Undergraduate Studies to receive credit toward the major for these courses. For all international courses, a Transfer Credit form from International Programs (888 Commonwealth Avenue) and a course syllabus must be submitted. For such programs, no credit will be given for equivalents to CAS HI 200 or seminar courses, which must be taken on the Charles River campus.
