Prof. Nolan Appointed to Committee on Brown Military Collection, Gives Lectures on New Book

Professor Cathal Nolan has accepted an invitation to serve a three-year term on the Committee of Management at the Anne S. K. Brown Military Collection at Brown University. In May Nolan was invited to give a lecture on his newest book The Allure of Battle: A History of How Wars Have Been Won and Lost to the Collection’s Board of Trustees.

Following the release of the book, Nolan has given lectures at multiple universities and institutions.

  • Invited talk to Congressional Committee members on long-term strategic thinking vs. short-term action, Hollingsworth Congressional Book Club, Capital Hill Club, Washington, D.C., June 13th, 2017.
  • Conference paper on “The Allure of Battle and Japanese Imperialism” at the East Asian Studies Annual Conference at Hebrew University, June 18th, 2017.
