| We Came to Sing in Jerusalem: |
We came to sing in Jerusalem
and walk through enchanted doors
We came on wings of eagles
as many have come before
We found the people of our homeland
and those of lands far away
We sang together all through the night
and we sang as we greeted the day
We sang for the peace of Jerusalem
We sang for the peace of our time
For the whole and the broken of spirit
Yes we sang for all of mankind
And the mountains of Judea
stretched out like rainbows to the sea
And from the mountain top of Scopus
oh we sang till our spirits were free
In the day the sun poured down like honey
and the moon a beacon in the night
And we sang with the poets of our nation
and our hearts did shine
We stood in the footsteps of pilgrims
Who ascended these steps in the past
And there came upon us a stillness
As we touched the walls at last
We sang in the pools of the wilderness
and we laughed and we danced up on the shore
And we sang for the dove and the plowshare
for the time we will study war no more
So sing for the peace of Jerusalem
And sing for the peace of our time
For the time of the singing is not over
And its now that we'll sing for all mankind
